INDEX International Design Exhibition

You are very cordially invited to visit the forthcoming El Nidaa display of fine craftsmanship at the INDEX International Design Exhibition in Dubai. This takes place at the World Trade Center Exhibition Park, Dubai, from 23 till 26 May 2016.

Be sure to visit our booth at Hall 7, booth #7A57. There, you will see a range of beautiful handmade products under El Nidaa Artizana label. We are proud to introduce, a whole new line of designs in textiles, lighting, furniture and home accessories at competitive prices. 15 designers have taken part in creating these select products.

The Egypt Foundation for Integrated Development (El Nidaa) supports the development of entrepreneurship among disadvantaged groups (youth and women in rural communities) in terms of access to vocational education and apprenticeship training for employment. El Nidaa’s interventions to date (four years of operation) give evidence of cost-effective nature of new products introduced for women’s employment, combined with the rich quality of vocational training such as to raise the value of the human resources content of products. El Nidaa introduced the One Village One Product (OVOP) model in 24 villages for prompting the development of traditional handicrafts in Qena, Luxor and Sohag Governorates in Upper Egypt with the help of Egypt master crafts people.

Handicraft procuts include: Traditional Hand Woven textiles produced in Naqada (Qena) and Akhmim (Sohag), Arabeque Woodwork, Alabaster and Brass Light Fixtures, Serma Embroidery, Sculpting with Camel Bone, Orientalist Painting, Professional Painting, Jewelry and Fashion Accessories, Khayameya Patchwork, Mother of Pearl Inlay, Contemporary and Islamic Pottery, Glass Casting, Copper and Metal Repousse, Telly Embroidery, Handmade Loom Bead Embroidery, Leather Accessories, Kelims, Papier Mache, Oyma Wood Work, and Palm Products. El Nidaa has supported 939 beneficiaries and created 724 jobs under he MSMEs and entrepreneurship component.
