ENID Fourth Annual Conference

The Egypt Network for Integrated Development (ENID/EL Nidaa) hosted its Fourth Annual Conference, entitled “Towards Effective Partnership for Sustainable Development” in Luxor at the Jolie Ville Hotel.  Participants of the conference were given the chance to observe ENID/El Nidaa’s work on the ground during optional Field Visits held over two days.

The objective of the conference was to identify ways to establish a more effective relationship among stakeholders for sustainable rural development while also showing how ENID/El Nidaa has aimed to enhance economic and socio-cultural wellbeing in Upper Egypt by providing young people with the necessary tools to achieve quality results in its three programs covering agriculture, basic services and micro and small enterprises.

Attendance was an opportunity to take stock of the progress ENID/ ElNidaa has been making in Upper Egypt and to discuss future partnerships and strategies to sustain and scale up the achievements. The goal was to bring together experts and beneficiaries to participate in idea-focused exchanges and on a wide range of subjects that would provoke a debate on policy issues that matter.

The Conference hosted over 300 participants, including Ms. Ghada Waly, Minister of Social Solidarity, Mr. Richard Dictus, UNDP Resident Representative in Egypt, Governor of Qena, Gen. Abdel Hamid Al Hagan, and Governor of Luxor Dr. Mohamed Said Badr, along with senior local administrative staff, local civil society associations, and representatives of international donor organizations.
